This past Tuesday, Athens Land Trust closed on four conservation easements in the Historic District of Madison, Georgia. Round Bowl Spring (1.35 acres), Presidents Park (2.52 acres) and Pritchard Farm (19 acres) were donated by the City of Madison. Tanyard Branch (2.85 acres) was donated by the Downtown Development Authority of Madison (DDA). All four of these parcels are now permanently protected and they consist of the first components in a planned 40-mile trail system connecting downtown, neighborhoods, parks, and places of assembly.
