Service and Remembrance activities took place all over the country on Monday, September 12th for the 2016 September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance. Here at Athens Land Trust, VISTA and FoodCorps members rolled up their sleeves and joined together to work at the West Broad Market Garden and make a difference in the community.
Volunteers from St. Joe’s Prep School in Philadelphia, PA visited the Williams Farm to help us prepare the farm and learn a little bit about what we do at ALT. This past Saturday the West Broad Market Garden hosted a fabulous volunteer day to help us prepare for our upcoming farmers market on May 2nd. Volunteers from the Society of Environmental Engineers, the UGA Habitat for Humanity and the UGA Horticulture all helped to make this a truly productive day!
