Benevolence Market

Benevolence Market

Please join us Sunday, Dec. 16, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church for the 24th Annual Holiday Benevolence Market . Nearly 30 local nonprofit organizations will be on-hand to provide information about their programs and to offer “symbolic gifts” that can be purchased. and Gift cards are available for 25 cents per card so gifts can be shared with friends or loved ones. These gifts are donations that help the non-profit agencies continue their work throughout the year.

Athens Land Trust will be in attendance, and from a shopping list of ‘symbolic gifts’, you can choose to donate something needed in the name of someone with whom you would ordinarily exchange gifts. Give a gift that will promote health, well-being, and community! Symbolic gifts from Athens Land Trust include seeds for a school or community garden, a week’s supply of fresh produce for a low-income family, or the construction of one square foot of a permanently affordable home.

Although the Benevolence Market is being held at First Presbyterian, all are welcome to stop by and shop for symbolic gifts in the spirit of the holiday season.
