Athens Land Trust is a HUD Approved Housing Counseling Agency and provides affordable group education and one-on-one counseling to Athens-Clarke County residents and residents of Barrow, Oglethorpe, Walton, Oconee, Jackson, Elbert, and Madison Counties.
We offer individual counseling services on a variety of topics, including
- Pre-purchase counseling
- Post-purchase counseling
- Rental counseling
- Budget & credit coaching
Our HUD-Certified Housing Counselors offer Group Housing Counseling services that cover a variety of topics, from Pre-purchase and post-purchase Education Workshops, Budget & Credit Workshops, Financial Management Workshops, and our Homebuyer Education courses for those seeking to become first-time homeowners in the state of Georgia.
There is a $10 fee for non-Athens-Clarke County residents for our all-day Homebuyer Education Workshop to cover course supplies, but all other workshops are free and open to the public.
All of our Housing Counseling workshops are free of charge for Athens-Clarke County residents through 2026.
